My MFA thesis work is a series of objects of adornment mounted with brass mounts onto wood panels. These objects are made with materials and forms that reference the enslavement of African people in the Americas: rusted chains, leather reins and bridles, steel collars, dried corn, and human hair. More to images come! My MFA thesis exhibition opens April 3, 2018. There will be 8-10 pieces in the show, will post photos when they’re done.
