My MFA thesis work is a series of eight objects of adornment mounted on wood panels with hand-made brass mounts. These objects are made with materials and forms that reference the enslavement of African people in the Americas: rusted chains, leather reins and bridles, steel collars, dried corn, and human hair. Read my full artist statement here, or watch the artist talk I gave in the gallery here.
